Third jerseys:
Select the New York Rangers as the visiting team. Hold Square + Right at the controller selection screen.

Super players:
Enter one of the following names at the player creation screen:

Then enter "1" as a jersey number, "Forward" as a position, "Right-handed", "150" as a weight. Do not edit any other attribute. Press Triangle to exit, then sign the player as a free agent. The newly created player will have new attributes, with an overall ranking of 99.

Hint: Quick goal:
Wait until a faceoff. Allow the players to get set and wait for the puck to appear in the ref's hand. When he is about to drop the puck, pause game play, go to the controller select option, and put the controller in the middle. Go to "Edit Lines" and press Left or Right until the opposing team's logo is displayed. Take out each player and put in someone that is not already in the game. Also change the goalie to a new player. Return to controller select, place it back on your team's side, then resume the game. Once the ref drops the puck, all players including the goalie on the other team will leave to get a sub. If done correctly, you can score easily.
