Breath Of Fire 3 Codes -
Hint: More fairies:
Get the Fairie Taria from the three Fairies after you fix the lighthouse. To get more Fairies, place them in the hunting section. Note: For this to work you have to go there after you are older (when Garland tried to kill you, and you disappeared).
Hint: Faster results at the fairy village:
Set up the way that you prefer. Leave the village and fight to accumulate battles (about thirty). Then, return and check the message board to view the results.
Hint: Fast party attack:
Get Bais (one of the kids in Wyndia) as a Master after you are grown up and learn his chain formation. Then, put Reis in the number one position and use the chain formation. Everyone in you party will almost always go before the enemy and you will get large amounts of EX attacks.
Hint: Peco: Learn spells quickly:
Do not use Peco in combat until you get Deis as one of the Masters you can study under. Have Peco (at level one because you have not used him yet) study under Deis. Leave the Cave Of Ages where Deis is located and go outside to get level ups, which will go fast for Peco. At levels 3, 6, 9, 12, and 16, return and Deis will teach Peco Inferno, Blizzard, Myollnir, Sirocco, and Celerity. It is easiest to do this with Peco because you never have to use him in combat for the storyline. Make sure that you have saved a Skill Ink so you can give Peco's new spells to a good wizard such as Nina or Momo.
Hint: Unlimited Life Shards:
Life Shards can increase your HP. To obtain more, get Rei in your party and fight a Gootitan. Use Rei's Pilfer until a Life Shard is obtained. Then, repeat to collect as many shards as desired.
Hint: Unlimited Magic Shards:
To obtain more, get Rei in your party and fight a Revenant. Use Rei's Pilfer until a Magic Shard is obtained. Then, repeat to collect as many shards as desired.
Hint: Challenging battle:
Get all characters over level 45 and walk in the container yard where they can fight Archmages and Berserkers. Equip Thunder Rings and Soul Gems against Archmages and Fire Rings and Soul Gems for Berserkers. Berzerkers are worth 10,000 EXP and Archmages are worth 16,000 EXP.
Hint: GooKing sword:
A GooKing sword can be found at Eden, where Teepo awaits you, and in the area before that. You need Rei to enter through the door to get to Eden. Because Rei's speed is unmatched, use him to steal a green apple from the GooKing -- otherwise the GooKing will run away. When you steal the green apple, the GooKing will want it back and will stay and fight you. Defeat him and the GooKing will randomly drop a GooKing sword, which has an attack of 180, which is 50 higher than the Dragon sword.
Hint: Holy Avenger:
Defeat the Archmage to get the Holy Avenger, which is Rei's strongest weapon. It is worth 20,000 gold.
Hint: Coupons:
After getting Momo back when your an adult, go to Dauna Mine. There is a room behind the location where the Dragon Zombie was fought. Have Momo blast the weakened wall at this location to get the coupons inside. Equip it to get a 10% discount on all items that are bought.
Hint: Lavaburst:
You can learn Lavaburst from Vulcans (inside Mt. Zublo near Raphala Region). This attack is strong and powerful. The Vulcans will only use it when they begin to move.
Hint: Manly clothes:
Manly clothes, when equipped on characters that can wear them, will restore full life just as a Soul Gem does when the character faints. You can purchase them in Syn City, but only Ryu, Rei, and Garr can wear them. This is useful during battles with Berserkers and Archmages. The man telling you about Ashura's Sword is who you should talk to. They are also cheaper with coupons
Hint: Protein:
To get a Protein go to Mt. Zublo and Pilfer or Steal from one of the Vulcans after you bring it back to life. Proteins increase defense.
Hint: Red Catfish:
When you are trying to get the Cupid's Lyre or the Shaman's Ring from Manillo at the Lost Shore fishing spot, five Red Catfish are needed for each of them. Go to the fishing spot south of Duana Mine and use a Baby Frog. There will only be one Red Catfish in the water at a time. They are usually along the far left. Once you catch one, exit then immediately return to catch another.
Hint: Ring Of Fire:
The Ring Of Fire can be obtained inside Mt. Zublo. It will absorb fire attacks as HP.
You can pilfer Rings of Fire from Fire Drakes in the orbital station Myria.
Hint: Ring Of Ice:
You can pilfer Rings of Ice from Ice Drakes in the orbital station Myria.
Hint: Defeating Guardian Gaist:
The confrontation with the sole living guardian besides Garr can be made simpler by getting rid of the two torches on either side of Ryu. At first it seems that they just replenish 25HP to Gaist, however they also make his fire-based attacks much more deadly. Note: For a very easy battle, have Ryu equip something that absorbs Fire-based attacks.
Hint: Defeating the Dragon Zombie:
Battling with the Dragon Zombie after Ryu becomes older is almost always a tough battle because of its poisoning ability, Bone Dance. To quickly destroy this monster have Ryu cast all his best heal spells on the creature. This trick will work on any undead creature, except for vampires. Note: Do not use healing items such as herbs or vitamins as they will give HP back to the zombies.
Hint: Control the Kaiser form:
Usually, Ryu will not have control of the Kaiser. Select Infinity + Trance + Radiance for it to work correctly.
The Infinity + Trance + Radiance genes are rather costly and will quickly eat up your AP. If you use Failure + Infinity, you will still have a controllable Kaiser form at nearly half the AP cost, although Kaiser Breath looks slightly different.
Infinity + Failure allows you to control Kaiser. Infinity + Radiance + Trance also allows you to control Kaiser, but costs more and is stronger.
Hint: More Dex:
When you get Rei in your team, and you want more Dex, go to Mt. Zublo. Go in the Volcano and fight Vulcans. Rei Pilfer from a Vulcan. This will help out when you need Dex.
Hint: Easy experience:
Later in the game, develop the fairy village until a copy shop is available. Copy an Ivory Dice until twelve of them are created. Use those dice on an enemy during a battle (for example, the Titan Goo's at Syn City area). Depending which enemy is attacked, 20,000 to 80,000 experience points may be obtained. Using the Ivory Dice in battle increases the amount of experience points that are gained. Using it once doubles the points gain, twice quadruples the points gain, and three times multiplies it by eight.
Go into Mt. Zublo with equipment that resists or absorbs Fire, and either Fire Magic or Molotovs. You should also have Frost magic. Use Fire magic on Lava Men, just as you would to wake up a Vulcan, but keep casting Fire magic on it. The more you do this, the stronger and more experienced it will become. This will increase their power enough for them to cast Inferno, and their attack is also raised. If you go far enough, you can have the same effect as using Ivory Dice, but it is cheaper. Make sure you have Frost magic to kill them quickly once their power has been boosted. This is important because of the effect this will have on them. It is possible to get up to over 8,000 experience points per character before they get too strong. Be careful to watch how strong they get and stay near an exit. When they become too strong, kill them. Their HP will not increase, everything else seems to. Note: This trick does not work on Vulcans. Once awakened, their experience remains at 900 total, and does not change. However, something similar may work on other monsters with elemental absorbing abilities.
To easily gain experience through fighting and have a good chance of not getting killed, equip a Fire Ring and go to Mt. Zublo. Fight Lava Men and shoot Fire attacks at them, but make sure the person you want to level up is wearing the Fire Ring. After you flame the Lava man for two to three turns, he should use Inferno, healing any damage to the person wearing the Fire Ring, but killing the other two.
Hint: Easy Zenny:
When you reach the factory, walk around until you fight the gold eggs. Defeat them to get little experience but a lot of money. This ranges from 10000 to 15000 Zenny. The easiest way to defeat them is to use Rei's Weretiger.
When you are training Beyd in Rhapala, he will give you 1,000 Zenny to buy equipment for him. Do not purchase anything for him. Go to the first training session and confess you have nothing for him to use. He will give you another 1,000 Zenny/ You may repeat this as many times as need.
On the road into McNeil town through the woods is a pond with a Croctear. If you have the patience, keep collecting them until you cannot hold anymore. Then, go into McNeil and sell them.
When you are in McNeil town, buy some Wooden Rods and a few of each lure. When you are kidnapped later by Bolios and Sunder and taken to the Arena, after you escape go to the Fishing Spot nearby. Use the rod and lures. There are Bass, Rainbow Trout and Puffer there. After you catch some, take them into town and sell them to get some decent armor and weapons.
Hint: Defeating Ghosts:
Use Heal on the Ghosts in McNeil Manor to defeat them easily. This also is effective on the McNeil boss.
Hint: Defeating the Goddess Of Destruction:
Just before the last battle, Myria will transform herself into the Goddess of Destruction, with about 20,000 HP. Defeat her by transforming Ryu into Myrmidon (Frost + Trance + Force), then choose Aura. This will allow more than 1,000 damage to be done on each turn. Do this repeatedly until she has been defeated. Be ready to use your healing items and assign one or two of your party members to replenish Ryu's AP.
To easily defeat Myria, have Ryu learn Aura from the master Ladon, transform into the Kaiser Form 2 (Infinity + Trance + Radiance), then use Aura.
Hint: Classic characters:
During the introduction, you can see Ox (big guy with hammer), Gobi (fish with spear), Nina, Ryu, Bo (Dow with bow and arrows) and the goddess Tyr (person behind all the snakes glowing) from the first Breath Of Fire. Others can be seen during the game:
Rand: Any people that look like Fahl.
Bow: Anyone that looks like the dog outside the arena betting with a monkey.
Sten: Betting with bow.
Ox: Anyone who looks like the big man from the mines.
Jean: Anyone who looks like the fat frog sleeping in the Wyindia jail.
Ryu: In your party.
Nina: In your party.
Gobi: The orange fish merchants.
Hint: Hide And Seek, Wyndian Kids:
After Ryu matures, he can be apprenticed to the kids in Wyndia that were in the hide-and-seek game earlier. First, find them in a hide-in-seek game around. They can be found in the following locations.
Bais: In B3 of the Dauna Mine
Lang: Behind a tombstone in the Wyndian cemetery
Lee : In the Eastern Wyndian Checkpoint, in a corner behind the guards
Wynn: In the lower level of Junk Town on the left side
Hint: Free berries:
Go to the coffee shop and kick the tree with the apples. Berries will restore five HPs.
Hint: Power Food:
In order to find Power Food, which increases any character's power by one point, have Rei in the party and go to the Factory or any other place that you can fight Hobgoblins. Have Rei pilfer Power Food from them. Steal is a skill that can also be acquired by apprenticing under D'lonzo for four levels.
Hint: Master of Agility:
To get the fairie Meryleep to become your master, go east of Wyndia and locate the a spring that is said to be home of the fairies. Have Peco run and knock a rock into the middle of the pool, and a fairie will appear. She will send your character on a mission to get an object stolen from her by a crow. Go to the mountain west of the Arena. Walk behind the mountain and a "?" mark will appear. Enter, then have Peco hit the tree with the crow on it. Take the object back to the fairie and she will offer to be your master. Your agility will go up +2, but HP, Power, and Defense will go down -1.
Hint: Thieving:
While walking around towns and other areas, a few zennys can be stolen. Hit people with your sword and four to six zennys should appear. This may even be done on dogs and other animals.
Hint: Handling the Weretiger:
When Rei rejoins your party he gains the Weretiger spell. However, the he will attack the party at various times. To avoid this, learn the Influence spell at the start of the game from the pink colored Boss Goblin. After Rei rejoins the party, have a slower character use Influence when he morphs into the Weretiger.
Hint: Kill Vulcans in volcano:
The Vulcans in Mt. Zublo are usually very hard to kill. However, they are worth 300 exp a throw, which at that stage in the game is a lot. Use this trick to kill them easily. First, before entering Mt. Zublo, buy a large amount of Molotovs (20-30) from Wyndia. After buying these, go into the volcano. When you meet a Vulcan, get one of your characters to use one Molotov on the Vulcan. It should heal it and the message "Vulcan begins to move!" should appear. After that, destroy it. Ice spells are very effective and the Jump skill (if present) also works well.
Hint: Avoid negative ability effects:
If you want an ability, but do not want to deal with the negative effects a master can put on you, simply leave a character (for example, Peco) at level 1 until you find the master you want. Then, get level ups. This is a great and easy way to get Aura on a second character.
Hint: Magma Armor:
Every once in a great while, a Vulcan in Mt. Zublo will drop the Magma Armor. It absorbs fire to heal.
Hint: Beast Spear:
After the fight with Gaist, the last remaining guardian besides Garr, check his ashes for the strongest spear for Garr, the Beast Spear. Note: This weapon drains small amount of HP from him, depending on level.
Hint: Coupons:
Inside the Dauna Mine as an adult, there is a cracked wall next to a treasure chest. You cannot break the wall yet. Return when you have Momo and blast it. Inside is an accessory called Coupons. When you equip them, you will get a 10 percent discount on any item for sale.
Hint: Dragon Blade:
To get the Dragon Blade from Teepo while he is in Lord Dragon form, have Ryu cast Shield on everyone, have Rei still, and have whoever heal or defend. Keep repeating this until Rei steals the Dragon Blade. When you get the sword, equip it to Ryu, because it will do high damage to the dragon -- critical hits will do over 1,000 points of damage.
Hint: Homing Bomb:
In Kombinat, head down the alley to the right of the shops to find a machine soldier behind some crates. Talk to it and it will ask you a question. Answer with the third choice, "Vuguguuoubidea". It will seem very pleased with your answer and give you the Homing Bomb weapon for Momo.
Hint: Life Armor:
Start from Horis's Base Camp near the Factory and take some water. For the first two nights, head north, following the North Star. After breaking camp on the second night, look west and check the Evening Star. It should be directly overhead. If it is, head west following the Evening Star. Continue west for three nights. On the third night you should come across a random battlefield with an item lying on the sand that looks like a silver breast plate. Pick it up to get the Life Armor.
Hint: Royal Sword:
Start a trip From Oasis Town into the desert. First, head south for one night and when day breaks set camp. Rest, break camp, and head south until you enter your first random battle. After exiting the battlefield, turn west and start walking again. Keep heading west for four nights. When you break camp on your fourth night, the first random battle should have the secret item Royal Sword. Its a sword with a red sheath on top of the sand.
